Join us as we welcome legendary Edmonton-based theatre and opera director Brian Deedrick!
About the artist:
Brian is delighted to be spending time on October 6th with the next generation of Canadian singers and artists. His work has taken him all over Canada and the United States, with occasional forays as far afield as Germany, Italy and Israel. A former Artistic Director of Edmonton Opera, some of his favourite productions there included FIDELIO, OTELLO, JULIUS CAESAR, FALSTAFF, WEILL IN WEIMAR, THE EMPEROR OF ATLANTIS, THE ABDUCTION FROM THE SERAGLIO and SOUTH PACIFIC. Selected freelance opera credits include TURANDOT and AÏDA for Fort Worth Opera, EUGENE ONEGIN and TOSCA for Opera Carolina, THE MERRY WIDOW and DON PASQUALE in Honolulu, LA BOHÈME for L’Opéra de Montréal and L’Opéra de Québec, TOSCA in Germany, LAKMÉ in Tel Aviv, and numerous productions for Edmonton’s Opera Nuova. Fresh from a production of LA TRAVIATA for Opera Kelowna, Brian looks forward to returning from Japan and to start work on MERRY WIDOW for Pop Goes the Opera here in Edmonton.
