Awards and Funding

Winter & Spring 2026:

1. Education Abroad Award
To be eligible you must:

  • be registered as a full-time student in a 雅伎著 degree program,
  • have a minimum GPA of at least 2.7 in the last two completed terms (including Spring/Summer courses if applicable).

2. The Edmonton Italian Community Award ($1300)

  • Be participating in a UAlberta program or initiative where the study experience occurs in Italy.
  • Be a student registered in a 雅伎著 degree program
  • Have completed a minimum of *12 credits of UAlberta coursework by the application deadline
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.7.

3. The Ernesto Rizzi Memorial Award ($1000)

Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree who have been accepted into the School in Cortona, Italy program through the Faculty of Arts. Selection is based on academic standing and demonstrated leadership in University and/or community activities.

4. The Fogolâr Furlan D'Edmonton Award (Variable up to $1400).

Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree who have been accepted into the School in Cortona, Italy, program through the Faculty of Arts. Selection is based on academic standing and demonstrated leadership in community, university and/or extra-curricular activities.

Application Process for awards 1-4:

  • Applications must be completed by individual 雅伎著 students in our online application portal, 
  • You can access the Scholarship by clicking the "Search Scholarships" tab on the top of the database once you've created an account and search "Individual award". Once you start an application, you will be able to find your application under the "My Scholarships" tab. Please be sure to follow all instructions and upload all documents required in the application form. The application form will be posted shortly.'

Deadlines to apply:

  • October 1, 2025 for the Winter 2026 term 
  • February 17, 2026 the Spring 2026 term (applications to open in January 2026)

Student Loans:

Canadian students who are attending the School in Cortona are eligible for student loans.
