Part Time MBA

Designed to allow you to continue working while completing the MBA, this program equips you with the sought-after skills and knowledge to advance your career.

About the Program

The Part-Time MBA is a challenging and rigorous 20-course program.  The program is designed to be flexible and offers students an in-person program with the option to complete some courses online. Online courses are offered asynchronously, meaning you can study and learn when it it is convenient for you, as well as synchronously.  It is not possible to complete your degree requirements through fully online study.  In-person courses are primarily offered weekday evenings at our main campus. Students typically complete the program within three-to-four years. However, you would have up to six years to complete the degree.

The program is unquestionably challenging, inspiring, focused, effective, and "real world". Through a blend of lecture, case, and applied learning, UAlberta MBA graduates are equipped with current knowledge and pragmatic and sought-after skills.

Proposed Changes to the MBA Program

A proposal to revise the MBA curriculum is currently progressing through University governance and is pending final approval.  This proposal would reduce the course requirements for the MBA program down to 45-credits from the existing 60-credit requirement.  This would effectively allow students to complete the MBA program in less time (we would expect most part-time students to complete their degree requirements in two years).  When fully approved, our website will be updated to reflect the changes.  In the interim, you can read more about the proposal and the impact on the MBA program through the link below.
