Lowering the Flag: Marvin Nyborg

The ¶®É«µÛ banner is flying at half-mast from February 7–10, 2020 in remembrance of Marvin Nyborg, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Renewable Resources in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences.
After a debilitating illness that spanned over half his 87 years, on January 15, 2020, Marvin Nyborg left his battle-worn vessel behind. Born on a farm in Saskatchewan in 1933, Marv developed a passion to make the land more fertile, for everyone’s benefit. This passion drove him and shaped his life, culminating in his position of Professor Emeritus in soil science at the ¶®É«µÛ. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Helene; and survived by his brother, Erling and daughter, Ingrid.
