We are looking for licensed dentists to work part-time at the Oral Health Clinic. Instructing in clinics is a rewarding experience where you will make a positive impact on students while providing much-needed treatment to the community. Position duties
You will be part of a team responsible for providing meaningful and motivating learning experiences for our students that encourage discovery and citizenship.
You will:
- Supervise students performing clinic procedures on patients.
- Ensure the safety of patients and students by ensuring the quality of care and confidentiality of information is upheld.
- Provide expertise and advice on treatment options and modalities.
- Assess student performance in the following four categories: applied knowledge, delivery of procedures, management/professional demeanour and infection control.
- Mentor professional behaviour; interactions with patients, support staff, colleagues and students in the clinic.
- Demonstrate clinical procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants should be:
- Licensed and in good standing with a Canadian regulatory body
- Experienced in clinical practice
- Available part-time during business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Placements in Edmonton are from September to April. Each clinical teaching position available is for up to one day per week or two half-days per week.
Clinics run between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Instructors are there to supervise, guide, mentor, and instruct dentistry, dental hygiene and dental assisting students. Instructors may need to perform or finish procedures if or when a student needs assistance.
This is a paid position.
